Lord McNAlly, Martin Johns, Scott Collins and Richard Philips looking over the future plans for Silverstone

Scott is 43 years old and lives in the Helmdon with his partner Jane and previously lived in Towcester for 34 Years before a brief spell living in Northampton.

He is the managing Director of PriSMM Solution Ltd, a company he recently created to provide Print and Social Media promotions for SME customers in a variety of industries.

Scott grew up in the Northamptonshire market town of Towcester, a town that has grown beyond almost all recognition over the last 30 years and is continuing to grow over the near future with a new urban extension to the South West of the current town.

He attended the local schools finishing his secondary education at Sponne School in Towcester.

Scott says “I joined the Liberal Democrat Party because of its honesty, It is the only party to discuss the economy in realistic terms, proposing extra funding for education and the health services without promises of major tax cuts funded by cuts in other services. The simple fact that any realist understands, that you cant have better services if you keep stripping back funding to cover tax cuts and freezes.”

“The last few years have tested our resolve and our willingness to take hard decisions for the good of the country. But I still believe in the fact we are at heart a party of small government and big local empowerment.”

He has stood as a candidate in District, Borough and County Council elections  over many years and served as a Borough Councillor in Northampton from 2007 to 2011 when the Northampton Party took control of the council.

“I believe that I can be a strong voice for local people in parliament and in local government which has long ago stopped listening to far too many communities. It is time that the people of the South Northamptonshire were heard again.

I intend to fight for local services, local people and to preserve the communities people cherish”

“I honestly think that the Liberal Democrats offer a realistic and credible alternative to the out of step Conservatives ideals and the failed sham of the rebranded Conservative party under David Cameron” said Scott.

“I am sure that the Liberal Democrats will be a force to be reckoned with both nationally and locally. The gain of 3 seats on South Northamptonshire Council and the landslide victory in Towcester to deliver a Lib Dem County Councillor is  proof that the Liberal Democrats will be fighting hard for the people of South Northamptonshire all year round not just when we need the electorates votes, unlike the cynical Conservative and Labour candidates”

Scott is also a keen follower of local sports teams and used to play rugby for Towcester and Buckingham sides. He is also interested in photography “Northamptonshire has some stunning scenery, we are very lucky to have such a beautiful county and country, but it needs to be protected and managed carefully as all finite resources do”.

During his time on Northampton Borough Council Scott held various roles, Chair of Diverse Communities Forum, Faiths Champion working with many diverse groups to increase social cohesion and understanding, Chair of Audit,Chair of Planning & Chair of the General Purposes Committee

Whilst living in Towcester he was a Town Councillor and a Chair of Governors at St Lawrence Church of England School. “My time as a Town Councillor reinforced my belief that decisions that effect communities should be made at the level of government that is nearest and most relevant to that communities future a policy the Liberal Democrats have always felt be best for the electorate”
